In the beginning there was Warcraft. Then Warcraft II. Then Diablo and the massive time-sink that was Diablo II. Warcraft III didn’t help. And then where was World of Warcraft.
I avoided it for a long time. Monthly fees, no demo means no buy-in from me. Until I stumbled across a trial at FilePlanet over the New Year’s holiday. I’m sorry to say I was hooked and acquired a copy not too long afterwards.
Now, to polish off what remains of my time, we’ve bought a second copy for Polly so that we can play together. The downside – there’s 20 levels between us at the moment and so I’m actually avoiding it to allow getting any further ahead. Which is good for the rest of my life, but not nearly so much fun.
Which brings me to a post on ‘gameopoly’ – WoW eats so much time that other games don’t get a look in. And it’s true. I’ve no plans to buy new games at present – I don’t have time to play the ones I have. Hence there’s no PSP on the horizon for me, or NWN2, or any of the other goodies on the horizon. Which in turn hopefully saves me money, and hence WoW is an investment. At least that’s what I’ll be telling Polly…
