It’s just a matter of time…

One of the other developers at work bought a PSP on Friday. Now the question is just how long will it take until the rest of the team start buying them? Absolutely stunning screen on them. Shame I’ve spent all my toy money!

RSSOwl, Reprise

As a little surprise one of the RSSOwl authors e-mailed me in response to my comments. Now that’s enthusiasm. The upshot is that they pointed out two things – firstly, there’s a release candidate of RSSOwl 1.2 and secondly, you can turn the tabbed interface off. Combine that with turning the double click off and [...]

It’s Alive

Well, it’s arrived. My media PC is now up and going and has spent all weekend being used to play Pirates! (which is fantastic). The only reason I’ve stopped to write about it is that Polly has beaten me from the machine so she can play! It did end up differing slightly from what was [...]

All your base are belong to us…

Or, Mac Minis will take over the world! Also, Man Goes Mad and Tells Truth. So rarely heard in these ‘tolerant’ times.

I’ve finally cracked

Well, sort of. I’m building myself a media PC. While I’ve got a Fusion PVR the combination of buying an LCD TV with 1280×1024 resolution and stumbling across Pirates! in HMV has broken my will. While I love my PowerBook in unnatural ways (excepting the cack WiFi reception) it’s bugger all use for games. And [...]

A Weekend’s Play

Well, in between exploring Greenwich this weekend I’ve tweaked the site’s look and feel a little and added a new section – Projects. This is a list of the more finished of the half finished projects that litter my hard disc. There’s not just vanity behind this – the idea is that if their publicly [...]

And back to my favourite whine…

Yep, RSS readers. It’s slightly unhinged perhaps but it’s better than climbing clock towers with a snipers rifle. A suggestion was thrown across the desk yesterday that I try RSSOwl. It’s Java but uses SWT so we get AA and a decent platform look. And it does look clean and attractive, which is an underrated [...]

Hurrah, Internet!

Well despite the day’s best efforts – it was pissing down and the Northern Line was suspended after the drivers quit work because the emergency brakes were failing – I’ve had a good day. A large part of this was due to coming home, turning the router on and finding we have broadband, 7 days [...]

And we’re in…

Well, we’re now living in London. Oval, in fact. So (as I found out this afternoon) whenever there’s an event on at the Oval we can look forward to fighting our way through hoards of fans clogging the pavement outside the nearby pubs. On the upside, while it’s small (1 bedroom) and has no outlook [...]

Almost there…

Well, we have a flat, we have a phone line and now we just need DSL. So after BT gave me a landline within 5 hours you can imagine my surprise when I heard a quote of 10 working days for DSL. Stay tuned…
