Remember when the web was boring and static? I’ve been playing with GTDTiddlyWiki, a GTD derivative of TiddlyWiki and it effectively gives you a full editable (and saveable) wiki in your browser (just one HTML page, nothing else). Neat toy. If only it synced to my Palm…
There is, of course, a trend to give this sort of level of user interaction to web surfers. The problem is, of course, browsers. The above works fine with Firefox, has some caveats on IE6 and needs a plug-in for Safari. Add in display pain for professionally designed websites and you can guarantee lots of pain for developers. Of course there are AJAX tools around to minimise that but it still hurts.
And, of all things, I don’t need to turn up on Monday until 9:30am. Wow. That’s practically lunchtime.
