I’ve stumbled across a few nice programs recently which have reminded me why I jumped ship to the Mac.
iComic gets Dilbert (among others) straight to your desktop. Plus it does the standard Cocoa goodies such as fade-in and out when browsing and animated window resizing. Nice. And free!
Skype, while being merely a port, is still very nice and a fantastic (and well priced) service. Unfortunately I’m still waiting on a USB headset to get using it properly, but once those are back in stock… 1.2 is very cool, although you can’t get NZ number for Skype-in as yet (surprise!).
Growl is a fantastic cross-application notification system for Mac OS X. And scriptable to boot.
And it’s just a well these are downloadable as NZ is still at the arse end of the world when it comes to obtaining Mac goodness. Mind, that may be because Renaissance are incompetent arses.
